Bientôt Demain : Le slow design au quotidien

Objet : Livre de photographies. Lors de ces trois dernières années Christien Meindertsma à collecté tous les produits pouvant être réalisés à partir d’un seul et même porc. Après sa mort le cochon numéro 05049 à été envoyé aux quatre coins du monde afin de réaliser divers objets et services de consommation. Ce livre retrace la dissection et la transformation de ce cochon et les objets en résultant, photographiés à l’échelle 1/1.

Concept: Christien Meindertsma has spent the last three years researching all the products made from a single pig. Amongst some of the more unexpected results were: Ammunition, medicine, photo paper, heart valves, brakes, chewing gum, porcelain, cosmetics, cigarettes, conditioner and even bio diesel. Meindertsma makes the subject more approachable by reducing everything to the scale of one animal. After it's death, Pig number 05049 was shipped in parts throughout the world. Some products remain close to their original form and function while others diverge dramatically. In an almost surgical way a pig is dissected in the pages of the book - resulting in a startling photo book where all the products are shown at their true scale (1:1).

“The poster “heaven” is about religion and how people used to think (and some still do) that the real life is the life you live after you die. The poster earth is about how people live now. These are supposed to hang above each other, the people in heaven look down on the people on earth and are wondering things like: Is this really all there is? I am so bored! In the other poster you can see the action and the stress we put upon ourselves to succeed these days, DO IT! NOW! It shows how both worlds are not ideal. »

Hanukit, comme son nom l'indique est un objet de poche à construire soit même. Traditionnellement ce chandelier à huit branches est allumé chaque jour pendant la fête juive de Hanoucca. Une fête non-chômée qui dure huit jours pendant laquelle on allume un chandelier à huit branches (plus une pour le Chamach qui sert à allumer les autres bougies). L'atelier de design Reddish, revisite de manière minimaliste et personnelle cet objet de croyance traditionnel.
